Tagelmust : Story Of The Ancient Scarf Of Nomads

Tagelmust : Story Of The Ancient Scarf Of Nomads

Tagelmust  is a veil that was worn by nomad tribes for centuries in the Sahara Desert.

The story of this veil that stood the test of time. Tagelmust is what they originally call it. Other names include Litham, mostly used by tribes with Arab origins. and Cheche, used by other tribes in the northern regions of Africa.

As a nomad at heart, living in a city where the golden dunes stretch endlessly from one side and meet the sea on the other, staring at this magnificent landscape comes by a true nomad, having lived his whole life with camels in the Sahara.

Tagelmust had always been worn by people of the desert, men like him, who roamed as free spirits, surviving and thriving within this unforgiving land.

While legends talk about Kel-Tagelmust, or people of the veil. These nomad tribes reigned over this land, adorned in their iconic veils, they embraced it as a symbol of their nomadic heritage, wrapped around their heads and faces. Not only did it shield them from the relentless sun and swirling sandstorms, but served them as a canvas of self-expression. But that veil on their head was nowhere to be found, aside from some local shops with limited supply.

Tradition says that each member of the tribes had his own unique way of wearing it, that in war his comrades didn't recognize him until he put back his veil. Through it color, length and pattern, nomads wove in it their individuality, leaving traces of that way of life, forever associated with freedom, uniqueness, and the spirit of never giving up.

Freedom in the face of the unforgiving. These attributes of the heritage left by a people, indigenous to this world.

We built DUNZ to stand with the adventurers, the explorers and the unlimited minds. We want to share a culture that has faded over the years, through this veil that has never ceased to survive agains the extremes of life, in the most unforgiving land.

If you read so far, you probably are a nomad at heart, and if you are. You will feel our passion to bring the best Tagelmoust there is, right to your door.
